About Project Red
Project Red is a meaningful November giving campaign created to support Assiniboine students and their families during one of the most demanding times of the year.
As the holiday season approaches, so do new pressures, shorter days, colder weather, rising living costs, and the final stretch of the academic semester. Many students are juggling schoolwork, part-time jobs, childcare responsibilities, and financial stress all at once. What should be a warm and joyful season can quickly become overwhelming. Project Red exists to ensure that no student at Assiniboine feels forgotten, left out, or alone during the holidays.
Whether a student is attending classes on campus in Brandon or studying remotely from a distance, the goal is the same: to bring comfort, nourishment, and a sense of belonging when it’s needed most.
During November, we collect donations and coordinate support so that students and their families can receive either:
- Holiday food hampers for students who live near campus.
- Grocery gift cards for remote or distance learners.
Why Project Red Matters
- Students can enjoy a meaningful, nourishing holiday meal
- Families have one less worry during an already busy time of year
- Remote learners receive support no matter where they are
- Community members have a chance to make a real difference
